IBM: TheSmarterCity

As part of IBM’s award winning Smarter Planet Campaign, TheSmarterCity.com was a new kind of online, immersive experience developed for IBM that took users through rich stories demonstrating how IBM is transforming complex systems across the world in 6 sectors: transportation, energy & utilities, healthcare, education, public safety, and economic development.

As art director and designer, I led the design and development of TheSmarterCity.com which leveraged animation, audio, and video to engage with new and existing users, educate internal IBM teams and provide a compelling tool to help demonstrate IBM’s leadership capabilities in the government arena.

The campaign expanded into an immersive touchscreen unit at JFK Airport, and featured in the New York Times.

It was also the focal point at the Intelligence Cities Forum held at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC — supported by TIME and IBM. The event explored the intersection of information technology and urban design to understand where we are, where we want to be, and how to get there.
